about

Punchdrunk in Rome is the second EP released by the The World at Large and the first release to feature all the current members. Just like The World at Large EP, the band recorded, mixed, and produced the record on their own. Building on the sound created with the first EP, Punchdrunk in Rome illustrates how the band expanded their sound. The opening track, 5 to 6, is darker and heavier than anything previously released by the band. Broke Down in Batsto and Sand Castles get away from the strictly guitar driven sound, even if only temporarily, with alluring saxophone melodies. The vocal harmonies, melodic rifts, and driving percussion is still clearly present so fans who adore the first release won’t be disappointed.
